This is a WWII American Optical P3 frame, probably military issue judging by the nose pad style. They looked to have had lenses installed, but based on the condition, they were not worn much, if at all. The temples are outstanding, with no wear at all. The nose pads are clean and really do look pristine. The hinges are nice and tight, no wobble and the screws are tested and working properly, even with almost no marring in th eslots. Great, bright finish throughout and a good frame size, too, probably the most commonly issued size. Though found without a case, they'll come with an old, green military-issue case, too. Superb frames, ready to go.

Wire rims are flexible, so lenses can be made to a variety of shapes for this frame. The typical style for this frame is a near-round lens often called a ''P3'' shape. Temples are measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend will vary based on maker and adjustment. Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw.

I describe any flaws found while cleaning, but there are no problems to report with this pair. I'm thorough about condition so there are no surprises and these glasses are in really excellent condition. They'll make great everyday glasses or some very cool sunglasses.
