These classic men's Tart Arnel vintage eyeglasses are in mint condition and ready for prescription lenses or sunglasses. The temples are marked with the Tart ''oTe'' and the size is marked on the back corners and temples. The plastic has a nice sheen with no cracks, crazing or discoloration and those dart rivets shine bright.
This is a famous frame from Tart Optical out of New York, likely made in the middle to late 1950s. The model is the Tart Arnel and the color is Redwood CB, a brown, black and red grained zyl on the brows and temples and the bridge and rims are CB for ''clear bridge'', also called a two-tone frame. They're unused frames, never worn, and the clear zyl is nice and clear, which means they were well-stored and as a bonus, they'll come complete with their paper frame envelope. Great keyhole bridge, strong, smooth seven barrel hinges, bright rivets in the famous ''dart'' shape and taper temples, nice and thick. These really are great frames, ready to go!
Temples are measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend vary. Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw. All frames are thoroughly inspected before leaving the Attic. I'm thorough about condition so there are no surprises and these glasses are in mint condition. They'll make great everyday glasses or some very cool sunglasses.
