These classic panto shape plastic eyeglasses are brand new frames ready for prescription lenses or sunglasses. The temples read ''Anglo American Optical Frame England ce MOD 406 JH 47-21''. Other sizes are marked similarly, each according to their size.
Here's a brilliant frame from a well-respected maker, Anglo American Optical. This is their model 406, a true classic. It's a newly minted frame, made in England in a variety of sizes and colors, but the frames in the photos are are their ''JH'' color, which stands for Japanese Havana, a pronounced amber and dark brown tortoise. They're very well made, with real rivets and nice, snug five barrel hinges, just as they should be. The bridge is the traditional keyhole style with nice, deep bridge tabs and the hornrims have a generous extension. These really are brilliant eyeglasses, ready for years of fashionable service.
Temples are measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend vary. Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw. This frame is available in several sizes and a variety of colors, including clear, black, tan and amber, as well as several other tortoise patterns. If you think you've seen this frame before, you probably have… it's a famous one! I'm occasionally asked if these are authentic Anglo American frames and yes, they really are. They carry the manufacturer warranty. I'm thorough about condition so there are no surprises and all frames are very thoroughly inspected before leaving the Attic. These are brilliant frames and they'll make great everyday glasses or some very cool sunglasses.
If you have any questions about this pair of glasses or anything else, please don't hesitate to contact me. I try to answer all questions promptly.
