These are top quality frames from the Milton Appel Company, an importer of quality frames over the last several decades, also known by their shortened name, Milappe. These frames likely date from the later 1980s or early 1990s, though I have to admit dating more recent frames is not my strong suit. Regardless if they're 20 or 10 years-old, they're good-looking frames, quality manufacture. The bridge filigree was one detail that caught my eye and the pattern at the hinges is equally well-done in sharp detail instead of the lightly stamped detail I sometimes see on more contemporary frames. The cable temples were the other striking detail and they're quality cables, well-finished at the joints, smoothly done throughout, quality finial at the tips. The nose pads are a standard screw-in pad in a firm density, clear and smooth like any new pads should be and they have a diamond pattern on the metal core, a nice detail only the wearer will ever see. The
nose pad fittings are a standard style, so they're easily replaced. The color and pattern on the rims is one Milappe calls blonde, a light to medium tortoise. Really nice pair of frames, ready to go!

Wire rims are flexible, so lenses can be made to a variety of shapes for this frame. The typical style for this frame is a near-round lens often called a ''P3'' shape. Temples are measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend vary.
Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw.
Though the bridge is marked 18, it really does measure 20 and the temple length
really is 165. All frames are thoroughly inspected before leaving the Attic. I'm thorough about condition so there are no surprises and these glasses are in mint
condition. They'll include the original frame card, too. They make great everyday glasses or some very cool sunglasses.
