These classic gold wire rim oval antique eyeglasses are in mint condition and ready for prescription lenses or sunglasses. The bridge is marked ''STEVENS & CO. SQ'', their tag reads ''GUARANTEED 12K 1/10 GF'' and the glasses are otherwise unmarked. This mean the frame is 12 karat gold-filled.

These glasses are antique unused stock, so they've never been worn or had lenses in them. Stevens and Company made marvelous frames and these are gorgeous, probably dating from just after the turn of the century. The bridge is deep and broad with a comfortable surface, the temples have a great ''spring'' to them and the screws are all tested and working well and completely without marring, a treat for me. Note the teardrop finials at the temple ends, a nice touch. Comes complete with the original paper tag, too. Truly a classic oval shaped frame, ready to go!

Wire rims are flexible, so lenses can be made to a variety of oval shapes for this frame. Temples are measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend vary. Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw.

I'm thorough about condition so there are no surprises and these glasses are in mint condition. They'll make great everyday glasses or some very cool sunglasses.
