These classic gold round Windsor antique eyeglasses are in mint condition and ready for prescription lenses or sunglasses. The arms are marked ''FRAME MADE IN ENGLAND ALGHA CE'' and the glasses are otherwise unmarked. The finish is 14 karat gold.

This is a newly minted frame made in England by Algha Works, a wonderful manufacturer. You may know them by their Savile Row eyewear, a famous line seen in movies, on movie stars, rock stars and even worn by the Queen. Algha Works has been in the eyeglass business since the 1930s with roots back to the 1920s. They still make frames using many of the same tools and techniques, these frames included! These have the traditional Windsor bridge, smooth and comfortable, a nice extension in the hinges and round rims, great frames!

Wire rims are flexible, so lenses can be made to a variety of shapes for this frame. This style is worn round, but can also be worn with nearly round lenses or other shapes. Temples are measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend vary. Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw.

These frames have three temple options, the 165 mm cable temples, 170 mm cables and 145 skull temples. The frames can also be fitted with rim covers in a variety of colors. Please inquire for details about purchasing covers.
