These classic gold Shuron Rimway eyeglasses are brand new, mint condition and ready for prescription lenses or sunglasses. The frames shown in the photos are marked ''48'' on the bridge and the arms read ''Shuron USA''. They're available in a variety of sizes, each size marked accordingly. They can be purchased with cable temples, as shown in the photos, or they also come with skull temples, the paddle style of temple. The bridge has a dot and arrow filigree and the arms have an elongated diamond pattern.
This is Shuron's Rimway frame, called the ''Ronwinne'' and made essentially just like they've always been made back since the 1940s, even including the traditional Shuron filigree pattern. The bridge shape, the wire behind the lens - it's basically the same design, well executed in a yellow gold finish. This style of frame was called a ''rimless'' for many decades, but is now often termed a ''half-rim''. In optical parlance, the style is called a Rimway. One of the few changes their Rimway is that the nose pads are also nice and soft, as opposed to the tan, mother of pearl style pads and the hinges are now spring-style, as shown. Also available in silver finish. Great frames, true classics, ready for lenses.
The Rimway style of frame allows for a variety of lens shapes. The top wire and hole spacing dictate the top edge of the lens and the width, but the lower portion of the lens is sometimes worn rounded, angled like an octagon or sloped near the bridge and rounded on the outer edge. Lately, I've seen quite a few with a shorter lens, but in this same shape. Your frames will come with non-Rx ''demo'' lenses as shown. Note that temples are measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend vary. Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw. All frames are thoroughly inspected before leaving the Attic so there are no surprises and your glasses will be in tip top condition. These frames are real classics and they make great daily-wear glasses or some very cool sunglasses.
