These classic G-man Malcolm X vintage gold eyeglasses are in mint condition and ready for your prescription lenses. The bridge is marked ''MARWITZ 1/1012K'', the frame is stamped ''54'' and the arms read ''MADE IN GERMANY''. The markings mean the lower half of the frame is 12 karat gold-filled. The arms and brows have a nice sheen with no cracks, crazing or discoloration.
These are new old stock combination frames made in Germany, probably in the 1960's. They're high quality construction, gold-filled and in great condition. Notice the details in the gold work around the bridge and the hinges - nice stuff. The hinges are nice and tight, the temples are a great design and the nose pads are really comfortable. These frames are in mint condition.
Remember that temples are always measured their full length, hinge to tip, as though they were straightened out. Why? Because they're adjustable, so measurements to the bend will vary based on who wore the frame! Lens and bridge measurements are from lens edge to lens edge. Hinge to hinge is measured from screw to screw. I describe any flaws found while cleaning, but there are no problems to report with this pair. I'm thorough about condition so there are no surprises and can honestly say these glasses are in mint condition. They'll make great everyday glasses or some very cool sunglasses.
If you have any questions about this pair of glasses or anything else, please don't hesitate to contact me. I try to answer all questions promptly.
